A CYOA (Choose Your Own Adventure) is a plotted event that is threaded in private, in which 2-4 characters are spirited away to go through a series of trials and challenges where they may face injury or even death. If certain conditions are met, characters may also gain access to special rewards upon completing their CYOA. That's what we call high-risk, high-reward, baby! Note that, although most CYOAs will OOCly be threaded starting on Sunday, ICly characters will be whisked away sometime during Thursday and would return before curfew time.
If you sign up for CYOA, you will be assigned to a group on any given week based on a mix of RNG, stated availability and timezones. We'll do our best to match up players with similar schedules, so please make sure to be as realistic as possible regarding you're schedule when filling out the sign-up form! If you are not rolled on a given week, don't worry. We'll be working our way down the list and prioritizing players who haven't had an opportunity to participate in a CYOA yet. However, please note that we cannot guarantee that every player will have the chance to participate. It all depends on the amount of CYOA proposals submitted during the course of this game.
Please note that CYOAs are time-sensitive and require frequent tagging over the course of the week. Though we'll check in with you regarding your availability if you're rolled for CYOA that week, please be sure to be aware of your schedule and that you'll be able to tag consistently throughout the week. All CYOAs must be completed at least two hours before curfew on Thursdays.
There will be two kinds of CYOAs available in this game: mod-run CYOAs and player-run CYOAs.
✦ ON CYOA TYPES

Player-run CYOAs, on the other hand, are run by a player in the game instead of a mod. There will be less mod participation in these CYOAs, and what happens in them will be up to the players who submit proposals with some input and assistance from the mod team.
Players who would be interested in running a CYOA for a group of 2-4 other players can submit a proposal in the designated thread below. Similar to signing up to participate in a CYOA, players who sign up to run a CYOA must be aware of their schedule to ensure they will be able to tag fairly consistently. If you're interested in running a CYOA and know that you'll have the time for it, please don't hesitate to sign up! Player proposals mean that there will be more opportunities for your fellow players to participate in a CYOA, which is always a win-win. For this game, the peanut gallery is also welcome to submit their own CYOA proposals if they wish to do so.
To submit a proposal, you only need a rough outline of what you intend to do in your CYOA. Your CYOA does not have to be related to your character's canon, though you're welcome to take inspiration from it if you wish. The most important thing that a proposal should include is a general goal or objective that characters will need to achieve. You do not have to be overly detailed in your initial proposal, but it should include a rough outline of what tasks, challenges and obstacles characters will face.
Please do keep in mind that all CYOAs must be wrapped up at least two hours before curfew time, barring any exceptions made at mod discretion. To this end, we ask that you make sure that the objectives of your CYOA can be accomplished before then. Any threads that aren't wrapped up by the deadline cannot be backtagged.
